The Control Satellite was a type of stationary space vehicle around 3 ABY. Once deployed, they maintained their designated position until they were moved to another location. Although it was considered well-protected from outside intrusion, skilled criminals could hack its defenses and establish a secure link to its databases, allowing them to manipulate or delete important data. Unfortunately for the hackers, a remote connection could only be established over a very short distance, requiring them to position their starships in close proximity to the satellite for at least a few moments.
